Variety of Coverage types

The likelihood of a flood would be based on the flood map which is updated by FEMA. Flood coverage offers you protection in the event of a flood or a mudslide. Many things are covered but some things are not covered.

Simple and easy to use

Plus even more

  • Residential coverage FEMA

FEMA sets the premium and pays the claims on FEMA-controlled Flood policies. Residential Flood covers room and board at a set amount per day while displaced because of a flood, damage to your home, cleanup, mold removal, and sandbagging.

  • Residential Coverage Not FEMA

These are private Flood policies. FEMA still creates flood maps, but the private insurance companies control the premium and the claims payout. Residential Flood covers room and board at a set amount per day while displaced because of a flood, damage to your home, cleanup, mold removal, and sandbagging.

  • Commercial Coverage FEMA

FEMA sets the premium and pays the claims on FEMA-controlled Flood policies. Commercial Flood covers loss of income, damage to your facilities from a flood, cleanup, mold removal, and sandbagging.

  • Commercial Coverage Not FEMA

These are private Flood policies. FEMA still creates flood maps, but the private insurance companies control the premium and the claims payout. Commercial Flood covers loss of income, damage to your facilities from a flood, cleanup, mold removal, and sandbagging.

  • Excluded Items

Excluded items would be food and most of the time auto losses. Also, if you do not have to pay for a covered item then you would not be able to claim it.

  • Why should you get or deny coverage and what ways to get coverage?

If you are near a river, stream, pond, or hill you should have flood insurance. Not all Agencies and companies can offer flood insurance but those who do will offer flood insurance as soon as you are in a flood zone on the map. Some mortgage loan companies will include flood coverage now in their policies but it is questionable as to who backs them.
